We've never had such a warm reception and interesting tour as we had at l'Odyssee des Batisseurs: the staff were warm and helpful and very accommodating of our "wet-cyclist" needs, and we remember our lovely experience there even now 5 months later - enough to finally write a long-overdue review.

It's very interesting! The exhibitions are surprisingly fulled with informations about the history of Alma, Isle maligne, hydroelectricity, archeological site and culture, there's also a place where you can disguise yourself with old outfits from other centuries there's a place where you can eat, a pedestrial way with games for children's and multisensory 360 degree movie in the water castle. You can also let your child play in their pirates room!

And the next morning, it was a terrible torrential downpour. We arrived as wet as drowned rats on our bicycles. Marie-Josee let us bring our bikes loaded with all our touring gear into an indoor space where we could hang our wet clothing to dry. Then, generously, we were provided with a guide who made an excellent tour in English for us in the indoor museum. We made our lunch in the lunchroom downstairs, and got to try on all the old-timey clothes and have some photos taken on our own camera :) Then we were given great directions and suggestions for places along the remainder of our touring route.

Thank you, l'Odyssee Team: you made our day on a cold and wet day in July!! Liz and Len from British Columbia :)

Our review is long overdue... but we've meant to do it for a long time. This past summer on a cycling trip on the Veloroute des Bleuets, my husband and I stopped at the museum in the afternoon for a visit. It turns out we were too late to fully enjoy both the indoor and outdoor sections, so the staff very graciously allowed us to tour the outdoor section and ran the last movie experience of the day for us even though it was so close to closing time. They permitted us to return in the morning on our way out of town to our next destination.
